Welcome to ThriveKids™ Academy
ThriveKids™ Academy is the place where we aim to understand your child’s needs and aspirations and reach beyond the constraints of standard education today. We are your family’s circle of support throughout your child’s education.
Your child’s day is based on our unique 20-20-20 circuit programming model. You can find a sample schedule here. Research shows that once the body has released excess energy, engagement and learning can begin. This learning approach will engage and excite our students, unleashing limitless learning possibilities for them.
By establishing strong adult-pupil relationships, built on mutual respect and trust, we can discover your child’s interests and learning styles and plan lessons accordingly. Through experiential activities, our younger learners are introduced to concepts they can grasp and our older learners use inquiry-based learning to expand their understanding, beginning to push the boundaries outward.
ThriveKids™ Academy is an academic program that enriches and exceeds the Ministry of Education curriculum through hands-on experiences and making learning relevant to everyday situations. As we strongly believe in collaborative work from both staff and students, we encourage children who can adapt to group settings to join our school.
Connections
Our first step is to build trust and respect between adults and children in our community. From this strong foundation, we can identify the strengths, interests, dislikes and the next steps for each child. These discoveries lead our planning, teaching and our learning environment, which we create as a class.
Visualization
With the use of visual and practical learning experiences, we bring dull academic concepts to life. This not only engages our students but helps them understand how this knowledge applies in the real-world.
Inquiry-Based Instruction
Thought-provoking questions stimulate our curriculum and inspire our students to think independently and take ownership of their learning. These inquiries and investigations of their own ideas help improve their problem-solving skills and gain a deeper understanding of learning concepts.
Differentiation
By planning and assigning activities to match each students’ unique learning styles and needs, children are academically stretched and those who are struggling, receive the appropriate support.
Technology in the Classroom
We expose young learners to a variety of IT across the curriculum to engage students and provide them with new skills. Incorporating resources, such as robotics, coding, gamification, etc., allows pupils to access learning material in multiple ways . Children can creatively communicate their ideas using different tools and on a multitude of platforms.
Cooperative Learning
By promoting small group or whole class activities, we encourage students of mixed abilities to work together and learn from one another. Verbal expression of their ideas and responding to others will build their self-confidence, as well as develop their communication and critical thinking skills which are vital throughout life.
