COVID-19 Policy

ThriveKids™ Academy follows the Ontario Ministry of Health Guidelines including:

  • All individuals, including camp participants, parents/guardians, staff, and visitors will be screened daily. Temperature checks will be conducted upon arrival before entry.
  • Entry will be denied to any individual who has any of the symptoms outlined in the COVID-19 Reference Document for Symptoms on the Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 website
  • Every person entering the premises will complete and sign a COVID 19 Check List
  • Entry will be denied to anyone who has come in close contact with a person with symptoms of or confirmed COVID-19 in the past 14 days.
  • Cleaning and disinfecting is completed at least twice a day all less-frequently touched surfaces. Frequently touched surfaces are cleaned regularly.
  • Using only cleaning and disinfectant products that have a Drug Identification Number (DIN).
  • We  perform and promoting frequent, proper hand hygiene (including supervising and assisting camp and class participants with hand washing).
  • We strongly encourage physical distancing of at least 2 metres between camp and class participants.
  • We will use visual cues (signs, posters, floor markings, etc.) for social distancing and one-way flow of traffic.
  • Coverings are used when physical distancing cannot be maintained. Guides (teachers) and management will always wear masks or shields when any other person enters the building.
  • Groups do not mix with other groups in the same room/space at the same time including mealtimes, playtime, and outdoor activities. Our rations are generally 1:5 or up to 1:7 ratio teacher to student.
  • Child drop off and pick up is staggered and to be done outside of the class or camp setting, at the main floor entrance to the building.
  • Extra hand sanitizer stations with at least 90% alcohol-based content are provided.
  • Personal belongings brought to class or camp are minimized and kept separately from each child’s things whenever possible. However, sun protection will not be shared.
  • Food is Fuel will be kept to a minimum. Nut Free lunches and snacks will be provided by parents in order to ensure safe preparation.
  • Should there be symptomatic camp participants, they are immediately separated from others until they can go home. All areas that were touched will be cleaned. Local public health will be contacted regarding any possible cases of COVID-19.
